MGM COTAI, the latest addition to the MGM portfolio in China, is a 5-star integrated resort which contains casino, retail, restaurants, conference, spa center, theater, swimming pool and garden. GB Tech Consulting Ltd is the green building consultant of the project and help this integrated resort became the first 5-star resort that won 3-star national green building certificate.

Outdoor wind environment optimization
To set up plant in the east of site to optimize outdoor wind environment and improve pedestrian comfort in winter. Maximum wind is 4.1 m/s and wind speed amplification factor is 1.8, which is not more than specification limits 2. The average pressure difference between the windward and leeward side of the building is 4Pa. In summer and transition season, average wind speed is 3.5m/s. no calm zone and vartex zone are generated.

Energy saving design and analysis
Based on optimization analysis of building envelope and MEP, hotel facilities consume 54,141,047kwh electricity throughout the year, which means its energy saving ratio reaches 62.5 percentage. Intelligent energy management system with 56500 monitoring points will provide technical supporting for hotel facilities during operation stage.

Municipal reclaimed water is used for greening irrigation and air-conditioning condensate water. The sewage of cooling tower is used for toilet flushing. Together with sanitary fittings of high efficiency, the water saving ratio can research 38 percentage.
